High exchange fees and time-consuming administration

Jaapi is an e-commerce platform that makes it easy for global companies to provide branded merchandise to their employees entirely on demand, with local production worldwide.A year or so into the company’s journey, it became clear that traditional banking was not suited to their international operations.

“We do almost everything on-demand, and because we have customers worldwide, we receive payments in different currencies. For example, some payments came in dollars, but we paid from our SEK account. This meant high exchange fees, and it really impacted our margins,” says Jaapi’s founder Karim Parto.

Without a flexible solution for international payments, it quickly became both expensive and time-consuming, while gaining a clear overview of finances was difficult. The company also struggled to manage ad costs efficiently.

“We also had a lot of administration around invoices and receipts, especially for Google Ads and other platforms. Every payment required logging in and manually downloading receipts, which took an enormous amount of time,” Karim continues.

“Previously, we didn’t have anything like this. Just by using the cards, we now receive significant cashback, money that we can immediately reinvest in growth,” says Karim, adding:

“We also have an invoice credit with Juni. It acts as extra security if we get a very large client order or experience a tougher period. The best part is that it costs nothing as long as we don’t use it.”

“It’s also very helpful with Juni’s automation. Since we use Google Ads extensively, invoices are fetched automatically and linked to our costs, instead of me having to manually download them. Additionally, the integration with Fortnox makes accounting much easier,” says Karim, continuing:

“I also appreciate that it’s possible to pay invoices in bulk, something that recently became available again. Juni continually improves the platform with new features, which makes a real difference for us – we really value that.”
