Searching for an alternative

When they started growing, Pom Pom London were using a traditional bank to run their business, but they were experiencing issues that were creating more financial admin than necessary. They couldn’t add more users to their account and share it throughout the team, creating unnecessary admin for accounting and financial management.

“Our traditional bank account was under my co-founder’s name, so our accountants and I didn’t have full access,” says Ben Boon, Co-Founder of Pom Pom London. “We had to send a statement through to our accountants every month instead.”

On their Juni account, they can now add as many users as they need with customised roles and permissions for better control over their business spend.

As their spend started growing, they also realised points as a bonus on card spend weren’t a useful perk for the business. “Card perks like points don’t give as much value to the business as the cashback we receive from Juni,” says Ben.

When Pom Pom London heard about Juni, an alternative to traditional banks that understands the challenges ecommerce businesses face, they saw how they could add value to their business.

“The possibility of spending money whilst earning a little bit back made it easy to decide to go with Juni,” says Ben.

Boosting their bottom line

After switching to Juni, Pom Pom London can now boost their bottom line and fuel their growth with cash back on their debit spend.

They use Juni for all their Meta and Google spend, and for paying suppliers like UPS. With ad spend of £4.2 million a year, that’s a great bonus for business going from strength to strength.

“Along with getting cashback, we can use Juni cards much more easily. Our traditional bank, even online, was not always accepted which caused issues when paying suppliers and partners,” says Ben.

Virtual Juni Mastercard® Corporate cards not only facilitate easy payments for ads and suppliers, but also increase collaboration between the Pom Pom London team and their accountants. Everyone has access, making it seamless to handle their month end accounting without unnecessary financial admin.

Pom Pom London have also benefited from a strong relationship with their account manager at Juni.

“Not having a relationship with our previous bank was a huge thing, they were hard to contact and after years of using them we’ve only just got someone we can speak to easily. Meanwhile, I’ve got my account manager at Juni on WhatsApp, and get replies within a minute,” says Ben.

“Having that relationship is paramount when you’re relying on a platform, and we’ve maintained a really nice relationship with Juni.”

Growing their customer base

Pom Pom London has ambitious targets. Having more than doubled their revenue between 2022 and 2023, they’re well on their way to continue their exponential growth.

Their focus is on building their customer base, improving their product and maintaining their exceptional customer service. With Juni by their side, they’ll have a healthy boost to their margins to invest back into their business.

“We’re going into our third year with Juni now, and we’ve signed up for another 12 months,” says Ben. “Ultimately, there’s no other product out there which gives us those financial perks.”
